Actually it is a bit too aggressive, clamping back a bit far in green and red shades and resulting in a 95. We didn't have the time to dig in this deep ourselves, and more control, in most cases, is usually a good thing. Encasing a 34-inch curved panel (rated for an 1800R curvature) running at 3,440 by 1,440 pixels, the Alienware 34's cabinet features a design straight out of the company's more recent playbook. The 3440x1440 175Hz spec is ideal for PC use, whether gaming or content creation, but doesn't suit consoles. We did also measure the DCI-P3 mode within this ‘Creator’ preset but that did NOT restrict the native colour space of the panel back to more accurately match the DCI-P3 reference sadly, so you are left with ~110% DCI-P3 relative coverage.

This tech offers better brightness and is less sensitive to burn-in than traditional OLED displays, yet still provides the colours, contrast and all the other great qualities that make OLEDs so desirable as both monitors and TVs. Ambient light inadvertently activates the QD layer causing this perceived drop in contrast ratio for the user. With wide-screen 1440p (3440x1440) resolution and a 175Hz refresh rate, it's both detailed and responsive, and it looks the part too with a very cool space-y design. The monitor also comes with support for Nvidia's top grade of G-Sync adaptive sync technology, G-Sync Ultimate, to prevent screen tearing when used with compatible GPUs. The jaw-dropping new design features a sleek QD-OLED curved 1800R panel integrated into the iconic new Legend 2. can run it at 3840 x 1600 if I want the ultrawide experience and use the full 4k screen for desktop use. There’s no need for backlight local dimming here like there is on LCD’s and the black depth and contrast ratio surpass all LCD panel technologies including VA panels by a long way.

We didn’t feel this was a major issue for most casual users to be honest when you consider likely usage scenarios and what the alternative would have been. coverage, making it a strong pick for gamers and content-lovers alike, though that much was hopefully already obvious from the "OLED" in the title. This impact to the black depth and contrast really varies though depending on your ambient lighting. The Picture-In-Picture (PIP) and Picture-By-Picture (PBP) feature lets you view two PC sources simultaneously for next-level multi-tasking. A revamped OSD layout with centralised joystick allows for easy navigation of the monitor’s settings and features. so it looks like they are covering concerns of image retention and burn in at least to some /extent. The text isn’t 100% perfect and some people may still see issues with it depending on their usage, eye sight, susceptibility. These aren't the best results when compared against the 1,000-nit peak brightness rating on the box, admittedly.
