Among the Orient Bambino models, you also saw how the brand brings fresh, unique designs to the table with every release.

Add that it has that super clean dial, and it makes a very good case for itself against another affordable dress watch: the Timex Marlin. But just remember, perfection is relative. What might not seem like a big deal to you might be a deal-breaker for someone else and vice versa. Pros This is a CLEAR DISTINCTION between Version 1 and 2. While Version 2 has Roman numerals, Version 1 doesn’t. It comes on a brown crocodile-style leather strap with a butterfly clasp as well (another nice touch at this price). The Movement As with most Orient watches, all of these movements are in-house automatics. The First Generation’s Workhorse MovementThe Orient Bambino Small Seconds keeps everything simple and practical in time-telling. Besides the small seconds subdial, it has easy-to-read hour markers and a date window.

Uniquely, Version II also comes in a worn-in off-white color, which seems like a hat-tip to its old-world style. Version III A watch enthusiast will tell you that its minimalist styleis their main takeaway from this Bauhaus-inspired model. It was a skeletonized watch with a beautiful movement underneath — a design style that would become popular in the following years. We’ve outlined this Buyer’s Guide to guide you in buying that perfect Orient Bambino watch. Generation 1 vs. Generation 2Apart from this watch’s brilliant elegance appeal, if the original colors don’t sit well with you then… The leather strap that the Bambino 36mm comes on is very nice. It’s a calfskin leather band with an alligator pattern. The dark brown with brown stitching is about as easy as it gets when it comes to matching to belts or shoes, as well.

There is no single winner in this category as each model has its advantages. People have different preferences, especially in watches. But personally, we prefer Small Seconds or Orient Bambino’s Version 5 model. What Orient Bambino Watch Should You Buy?

Different Orient Bambino watch versions vary their dial’s designs. Meanwhile, the Orient Bambino watch generations have their unique internal automatic movement mechanics.

You have the control to recharge the watch for power reserve. Also, you can manipulate the date and hands in a manual setup. The first generation Bambinos ran on Orient’s 48743 movement, an automatic caliber with a 40-hour power reserve and an accuracy of +/-15 seconds per day. Bambino Versions 1, 3, and 4 embody the concept of "less is more." Their dials are especially plain and do without numerals entirely. Instead, applied indices mark the hours, while small dots indicate the minutes. You can tell the different versions apart by their hand and index shapes. The Bambino 36mm is a unisex watch at its heart, but its dressy styling makes it hard to deny as formal wrist candy. It’s also hard to overlook its affordability. Guys looking to add a dress watch to their watch roll won’t be disappointed in the Bambino 36mm. Another attractive feature of these timepieces is their movements. Watch for Tomorrow

The first-generation Bambinos feature a Japanese caliber 48743 with 21 jewels, capable of providing 40 hours of power reserve and an accuracy of +- 15 seconds per day. Orient's naming system for the Bambino series is wonderfully simple. It starts with Version 1 and ends with Version 5. You'll also come across plenty of individual editions with "Generation 2" in their names. This designation is exclusive to models produced after 2018 and powered by the entirely reworked Version 4 combines elements of the V1 and V3. It has slender diamond-shaped indices and thin dauphine hands. A typical Orient Bambino watchcase has a 40.5-mm diameter and 12-mm width. Its 21-mm lug width might be a problem when finding replacement straps. Domed Crystal
